Effective use of information technology is one of the key success factors of organizations in gaining competitive advantage and providing better services to customers. The ever-increasing growth of developments and innovations in this field has created challenges in coordinating information technology strategies with organizational strategies. Coordinating information technology strategies with new business strategies is considered as one of the top ten issues of executive managers in this field. Despite the various methods and models that have been proposed and used in the past decades to solve the coordination problem, there are still serious challenges in this field. Technology planning has always been considered as one of the effective ways to align an organization's strategy with its technology plans.
